JOB OVERVIEW

Assistant Managers are responsible for all aspects of store operation during their shift, including cost controls, inventory control, cash handling, and customer relations. They set the example for the team, enforce all policies and procedures, and maintain the highest standards of service and appearance.

• Staffing and crew management

• Paperwork and reporting

• Cost controls and cash management

• Food management and scheduling

• Maintaining a clean and safe store environment

• Marketing and promotional activities

• Achieving profitability targets

• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills

• Proficiency in basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and accurate monetary change handling

• Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills

• Ability to enter orders and process information using a computer or touchscreen

• Motor coordination to handle food and equipment efficiently

• Navigational ability to locate addresses within a delivery area

• Standing and walking for extended periods

• Walking over varying surfaces including tiles and bricked areas

• Short-distance travel between store and delivery vehicle

• Paperwork performed at a desk or table

• Lifting (up to 50 pounds for deliveries, up to 72 feet for shelving)

• Carrying large items such as cans and pizza dough

• Pushing and pulling trays on dollies

• Exposure to a range of temperatures (from 36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in work areas)

• Possible adverse weather conditions during deliveries and outdoor tasks

• Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, and sharp edges

• Varying light, depth perception, and vision requirements for in-store and driving tasks
