Job Overview
We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.
Responsibilities- Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
- Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, ensuring seasonal areas are maintained.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Process corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, etc.) and related communications.
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts).
- Execute loss prevention duties and secure company assets, including store cash.
- Maintain the store’s cleanliness, covering bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
- Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment and that associates follow company policies.
- Support the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives required.
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
- Provide required background information to obtain and maintain alcohol and/or tobacco sales licenses as mandated by local jurisdiction.
