Plant Geneticist Advisor (Onsite)
New Solutions has spent more than 25 years connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with job opportunities supporting federal agencies. This role is offered through the Experienced Worker Program with the USDA Agricultural Research Service.
This position will be open until filled. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

- Minimum age: 55
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in plant genetics and breeding or a PhD in genetics, plant breeding, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum age 55.
- Analyze data on blueberry and muscadine germplasms and cultivars to identify cultivars for advancement in the breeding pipeline. 40%
- Analyze data on muscadine germplasm and cultivars, contribute to the release of two muscadine cultivars, and advise on breeding strategies. 30%
- Provide training to scientists and technicians on the maintenance and breeding of blueberry and muscadine crops. 20%
- Guide researchers in developing a streamlined blueberry and muscadine inventory. 5%
- Review progress and advise scientists on the path forward for ongoing internal and collaborative programs. 5%
