Utility Locator

Compensation: $18.00 per hour.

DIG). USIC is a leader in underground utility damage prevention, performing over 84 million locates annually. This role is for a Locator who will work independently in the field, using company‑provided equipment to accurately mark and document underground utilities.

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Search designated areas for utilities, accurately marking the location and photographing each find.
• Complete all required documentation and ticketing for each locate.
• Work full‑time day shifts with a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates, including overtime, weekend, evening, and on‑call shifts as needed.
• Operate and maintain company‑provided vehicle, fuel card, phone, and equipment.

• No prior locating experience required; experienced locators encouraged to apply.
• Willing and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology and ability to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
• Pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Able to work in confined spaces, walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark utilities.
• Good communication skills with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
