We are seeking an Aircraft Electrician to support electrical system fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance across high-performance fighter aircraft, tactical jets, fixed-wing aircraft, and rotor-wing platforms. This role includes flight-line support, system testing, and occasional travel.
Duties include:
- Perform complex assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical components.
- Read and interpret technical publications to support development and continuous improvement of work instructions and processes.
- Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting on electrical systems and LRUs associated with aircraft avionics, power distribution, communication, navigation, and mission systems.
- Fabricate, install, route, and repair control, power, video, RF, and high-density signal cables.
- Execute COMSEC-related duties in accordance with DoD and service-specific policy.
- Operate and maintain Secure Key Loaders to load, verify, and manage cryptographic keys.
- Use in-shop and flight-line test equipment for aircraft electrical testing, troubleshooting, and servicing.
- Serve as a Team Leader supporting workflow, coordinating task assignments, and ensuring accurate execution of electrical system maintenance and installation activities.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and hands-on training to lower-level technicians.
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure proper assembly, installation conformity, electrical routing integrity, and acceptance testing compliance.
- Conduct thorough Foreign Object & Debris (FOD) inspections and maintain strict "clean-as-you-go" standards.
- Up to 25% of travel required, including overseas assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree or completion of a technical school program in aviation, electronics, or a related field preferred.
- Formal aircraft electrical or avionics training (military or commercial) strongly desired.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license preferred.
- Previous qualification or experience in aircraft Engine Run, APU operations, or Plane Captain duties on fighter or tactical jet aircraft is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Foreign Object & Debris (FOD) prevention processes and mitigation practices.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of hands-on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
- Proficiency in the use of standard electrical hand tools and calibrated tools, precision measuring equipment, and electronic test instruments.
- Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

- Ability to walk and stand on level or inclined surfaces for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, including performing tasks at height while using appropriate fall-protection equipment.
- Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp and handle objects, utilize fine finger dexterity, and bend or extend at the knees and elbows; must be able to reach above and below shoulder level.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances as required by the job.
- Ability to read and interpret dials, gauges, scales, micrometer measurements, and identify small parts or tools.
- Visual acuity required to detect defects, read precise measurements, and differentiate colors; must be able to judge depth and three-dimensional spatial relationships.
- Ability to communicate verbally and perceive audible signals or alarms.
- May be required to operate machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklifts, and other industrial or aviation-related equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, weather conditions, and environments typically associated with hangars, flight lines, and industrial facilities.
