Role Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing daily inspections and maintenance of park rides, buildings, and equipment throughout the property, ensuring safety and operational reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general facility‑wide maintenance on roofing, exterior and interior buildings, restrooms, food building, and pump rooms.
  • Lead and assist with daily carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical projects.
  • Inspect and test amusement rides, water rides, and all other attractions; sign off on safety and completion.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, service, and repair amusement rides, including removal, reinstallation, and replacement of parts.
  • Maintain all buildings, physical structures, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Operate heavy equipment (forklifts, scissor lift) and park motor vehicles on‑and‑off site.
  • Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, line trimming, grounds cleanup, pruning, and planting when assigned.
  • Assist in training and operating rides, including covering bathroom and meal breaks during peak season.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and document work performed with time and materials.
  • Report maintenance, mechanical or structural issues to maintenance or park leadership promptly.
  • Perform general upkeep and maintenance of all park attractions.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; trade school training or technical certification is a plus.
  • 1+ year of previous maintenance or construction work experience preferred.
  • Background in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, or landscaping is preferred but not required.
  • Experience performing maintenance on roller coasters, amusement rides, or other attractions is desired.
Requirements
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with theme park ride mechanics and state/local codes is a plus.
  • Must provide own tools (screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, wrenches, socket sets etc.).
  • Fluent English;
    Spanish or other bilingual skills a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods.
  • Remain on feet for majority of the workday.
  • Carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 75 pounds or more.
  • Work in confined spaces, above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts.
  • Use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools consistently.
  • See colors and brightness differences; see details of objects more than a few feet away.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and weather conditions.
  • Subject to repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and chemicals and greases.
  • Exposure to blood borne pathogens; proper PPE required.
  • Work at heights greater than 50 feet.
