Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and inspection of all facility equipment and general facility maintenance. The day‑to‑day tasks include:

• Participating in the company Safety Program and attending daily pre‑shift meetings.
• Performing duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations, wearing appropriate PPE.
• Conducting daily walk‑throughs of the facility and equipment, planning and prioritizing work based on facility needs and supervisory input.
• Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance per manufacturer recommendations and company policies to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting reported or discovered equipment issues; repairing or replacing defective parts or coordinating assistance as necessary.
• Maintaining inventory of parts and supplies required for routine tasks.
• Completing documentation accurately and legibly.
• Performing general housekeeping and clean‑up of work areas.
• Utilizing industry standards and research information to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Providing additional highly skilled maintenance tasks (e.g., electrical, fabrication, welding, cutting, blueprint reading, carpentry) when required.

• Education required: High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
• Experience required: None.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in an industrial environment with a dependable work record.
• License/Certification preferred: Mechanical Maintenance Certificate.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Intermediate to advanced understanding of mechanical maintenance, machines, and tools; basic computer skills with Microsoft Office; effective oral and written communication; basic math skills; ability to follow directions; logical problem‑solving; ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Continuous balance, bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, crawling, kneeling, and squatting as required.
• Regular stair and ladder climbing to significant heights.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
• Use of PPE at all times; completion of PFT and fit testing where applicable.
• Openness to working extended hours, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and in high dust environments.
• Capability to work in confined spaces and on movable barge surfaces with high water exposure.
• Manual dexterity for small object manipulation; strong vision and depth perception.
• Maintenance of alertness for emergency alarms and two‑way radio communication.
• Travel up to 20% may be required for off‑site training or alternate locations.

Base pay range: $15.00 – $24.00 per hour (actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and skills).
