Rides Maintenance Technician; Seasonal

The Rides Maintenance Technician (Seasonal) at Story Land is responsible for performing hands‑on daily inspections, maintenance, repair, and replacement of rides, buildings, and equipment throughout the park.

• Perform general facility‑wide maintenance and related work on roofing, exterior and interior buildings and structures, restrooms, food buildings, and pump rooms.
• Lead and assist with daily carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical projects.
• Perform daily inspection and testing of amusement park rides, water rides, and all other attractions, signing off on their safety and completion.
• Troubleshoot, test, service, and repair amusement rides, including removal, reinstallation, and replacement of ride parts.
• Provide general upkeep and maintenance of all buildings and physical structures found within the park.
• Perform general maintenance, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair broken equipment and attractions with minimal supervision.
• Develop an understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits to assist with maintaining continuous ride operation.
• Perform water quality duties within aquatics areas of the park.
• Safely operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and more after completing training.
• Operate park motor vehicles on‑and‑off site.
• Assist in training for accurate ride operation and offer ride coverage during break times as needed.
• Always adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Properly document work performed, along with time and materials used per park policies and procedures.
• Report any maintenance, mechanical, or structural issues to maintenance or park leadership in a timely and complete manner.
• Perform any other duties assigned by maintenance or park leadership.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Trade school training or other technical certification is a plus.
• 1+ year of previous maintenance or construction work experience desired.
• Background in a related trade such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, or landscaping preferred but not required.
• Previous work experience performing maintenance on roller coasters, amusement rides, or other attractions desired but not required.

• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English. Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

• Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with NH child labor laws.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be open to close as needed (generally 40 to 50 hour week in five consecutive days).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and carpentry preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods.
• Ability to remain on feet for the majority of the workday.
• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more.
• Ability to work in all non‑conventional areas of the property, including confined spaces, above ground‑level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts.
• Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, and move objects/tools.
• Ability to see differences between colors and brightness.
• Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away.

• Frequent exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions.
• Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases.
• Subject to blood borne pathogens; proper PPE required.
• Subject to working at significant heights greater than 50 feet.
