Industrial Electrician
We are looking for an Industrial Electrician for our Plywood manufacturing operation in Beaumont, MS
. The primary purpose of the position is to provide electrical maintenance support for our mill and to safely ensure all production‑related equipment is in good working order and functioning properly.
- Use all proper and necessary tools to safely repair and maintain production and manufacturing equipment.
- Repair or replace motor control circuits, pneumatic valves and cylinders, hydraulic valves and cylinder relay circuits, DC and AC drives, limit and proximity switches, and other field devices. Experience with conduit bending and wiring motors.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and identify irregularities and malfunctions.
- Work with programming of VFDs, Allen Bradley software, and troubleshoot PLCs.
- Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, electrical supplies, and equipment and initiate reordering when necessary.
- Operate a forklift or other rolling stock on occasion.
- Communicate regularly with co‑workers and management to ensure good two‑way communication concerning electrical and maintenance issues.
- Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. Respond to repair and modification requests from the Safety Committee and/or Safety Manager.
- May also have additional responsibilities related to the operations of the plant, as assigned.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast‑paced and constantly changing environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize, multi‑task, and prioritize.
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues.
- Must be able to pass the electrician maintenance exam and hands‑on assessment.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of three years of electrical experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills and experience using a computer for record‑keeping and documentation.
- Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, noisy, industrial environment.
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to 12 hours per day.
- Willing and able to pull and lift to 50 lbs.
