The job of Facilities Electrician focuses on installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical systems and equipment across the plant. The individual will identify repair and/or replacement needs, provide guidance on equipment use, and ensure materials are available to complete jobs on time.
Key Responsibilities- Install electrical systems in new construction.
- Troubleshoot and access electrical power, lighting, control, and equipment to determine causes of distribution equipment failures.
- Install, modify, and upgrade new and existing electrical systems, components, parts, and related equipment.
- Repair damaged electrical equipment, conduit, and conductors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist the company’s overall objectives.
- Always operate safely and use safe work habits while performing job functions.
- Notify supervisor immediately in the event of a faulty machine or defective materials.
- Demonstrate the company’s core and growth values in all job functions.
- Troubleshoot equipment and machinery as requested.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and keep routine records as required.
- Operate shop equipment such as saws, grinders, drills, and other tools as needed; examine materials and work for defects to ensure conformance.
- Work from shop drawings, blueprints, sketches, work orders, and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work and shop area.
- Valid State Electrician License – Current journeyman or master electrician license in good standing.
- Electrical Experience – Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, and lighting systems.
- Voltage Proficiency – Demonstrated ability to safely work with low voltage (120 V) through high voltage (480 V).
- Blueprint Reading – Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one‑line drawings, and control logic diagrams.
- Building Automation & Controls Experience – Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and BMS.
- Industrial Maintenance Background – Experience in manufacturing or large‑scale facility environments with production equipment and conveyor systems.
- Technical Education – Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
