PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the life safety industry to hire experienced Fire Alarm Technicians for commercial installation and service projects. We are seeking technicians with hands-on experience installing, testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems in commercial environments.

Role SummaryAs a Fire Alarm Technician, you will install, inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial fire alarm systems. This is a field-based role supporting new installations, upgrades, inspections, and service projects while ensuring compliance with fire and life safety codes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Install, wire, and test fire alarm systems and devices
- Perform fire alarm inspections and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot system faults, wiring issues, and device failures
- Assist with system startup, testing, and commissioning
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Complete service reports and inspection documentation
- Communicate with customers and project teams as needed
- Travel to project sites as required, including occasional out-of-town assignments (hotel provided and $45/day per diem)
- Adapt to varying start times based on project schedules
- Follow safety requirements, NFPA standards, and installation best practices
- 3-5 years of experience installing, servicing, or inspecting fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire alarm codes
- Experience troubleshooting fire alarm panels and devices
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule as needed
- NICET certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience with multiple fire alarm manufacturers and control panels
- Experience working in commercial construction or retrofit environments
- Knowledge of low-voltage wiring and system integration

$21.00 to $29.00 per hour
