Post Mission
Pioneering since 1977, Atral Group is the inventor of the first wireless radio alarm system—a technology that now protects national museums, hydroelectric power plants, and thousands of critical sites across Europe. Our products, marketed under the Daitem and Diagral brands, are 100% designed and manufactured in France, in our Isère factories.
At the heart of our R&D: a proprietary radio protocol, anti-jamming, designed for devices that last 5 to 10 years on battery. This is the technical challenge you will join, as part of a team of 15 embedded developers based in Crolles.
THE POSITION
You join the Research & Development department of Atral Group, reporting to the Software Development Manager, as part of a team organized in Agile Scrum (2-week sprints).
Your mission is part of a structuring project: the development of a new range of alarm products for the residential and large account markets, combining embedded and digital. The objective is ambitious—to design products that meet the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act, while also fitting into a global approach to improve user experience led by the project. New services, new interfaces, new architecture: it's a project that starts from a (almost) blank page.
The project brings together three complementary technical teams—cloud, embedded, and hardware. You integrate into the embedded team, in constant interaction with the other two. No isolated development—you are in direct contact with technical, marketing, and quality teams throughout the cycle.
YOUR MISSION
In conception
- You participate in the elaboration of the specifications alongside technical, marketing, and quality teams
- You define the embedded software architecture and propose design patterns adapted to product constraints
- You contribute to the writing of functional specifications
In development
- You develop the embedded software by applying the rules of the trade: coding, testing, static analysis
- You ensure the compliance with functional, non-functional, and performance requirements
- You document to capitalize—not to tick boxes
In production & quality
- You develop test software in collaboration with the industrialization team
- You support the production setup
- You analyze failures, look for root causes, contribute to continuous improvement
Towards the team
- You transmit modern good practices of embedded development
- You participate in the mentoring of developers and in the skill enhancement of the team
- You participate in the animation and collective improvement of the software business
Graduate of an embedded engineer school, you have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in embedded software development.
Technical side
- C language, on STM
32 microcontrollers - FreeRTOS, ultra low power development (5 to 10 years battery life)
- Proprietary Inova radio protocol—anti-jamming, certified, recognized on the market
- Embedded CI/CD, static code analysis
- Comfortable with real-time constraints and resource-limited environments
Human side
- You can explain a technical choice without condescension—to a junior developer as well as to a product manager
- You are rigorous without being rigid: coding rules exist to serve the product, not the other way around
- You are comfortable in a multidisciplinary environment where not everyone shares the same vocabulary
- You look for the root cause where others would settle for a quick fix
- You master English at a technical level
