Truck Driver CDL A Solo

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Byhalia, Mississippi—offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

• Minimum Weekly Guarantee: $1657.64
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.65 per mile with 1800 miles per week
• Solo Stops Pay: $15.00 per stop with 15+ stops per week
• Per Diem Pay: $50.00 per night with 4 nights per week
• Touch Freight Pay: $0.15 per piece with 1000 pieces per week
• Paid training
• Start time varies based on HOS

• 80 hours PTO in your first year; start Day 1 (use it or get paid for it)

• Routes: SOLO to AL, AR, FL, KY, MS, LA, TN, IN, MO, and IL
• May travel to other states for customer locations
• Home resets on weekends
• Tractor type: assigned sleeper unit
• Trailer type: dry van
• Freight: touch - tires
• Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 roadside maintenance

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
• Over the road and high touch freight experience required

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards, and maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight, or assist in loading/unloading if required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
