2nd Shift Yard Jockey - Hammond, LA

PRIMARY

WORK LOCATION:

This position is physically based at the Hammond, Louisiana facility. The employee will report to and perform all work at the Hammond, Louisiana location.

This position is not located in McComb, MississippiPRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Yard Jockey moves trucks and trailers around in loading area, spots incoming trucks, and assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Move tractor trailer trucks and trailers around yard to load and unload

Spot incoming trucks, relaying information to dock Assist with unloading an loading trucks as needed to help product flow to and from processing plantt

Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture

Perform additional relevant duties as assigned SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies:
Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy EDUCATION and

CERTIFICATIONS:

High School diplomas or equivalent preferredCDL License in good standingDOT certification

Forklift certifiable

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Experience in driving tractor trailer

Basic math and computer skills

Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner; multi-lingual strongly preferred

Ability to handle and resolve most issues in an efficient and effective manner while ensuring confidential information is relayed only on a need-to-know basis

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail

Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs

Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)
Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift

Will be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production
