Seasonal Scale Probe Clerk

Responsibilities

• Weigh inbound trucks, record information, and take samples where applicable.
• Perform necessary tests for grading of specific grains.
• Electronically record grades, splits, and other required information.
• Direct trucks to the appropriate location and weigh out empty trucks, recording information.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, keeping the truck line moving.
• Complete documentation timely, accurately, and legibly.
• Label and store samples according to facility protocol.
• Participate fully in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre‑shift meetings.
• Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Perform general cleanup of the scale/probe house inside the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience:
  
  None required; preferred at least 1 year in an industrial environment with a dependable work record.
• License/Certification:
  Grain grader and/or weighing certificate required; must obtain it if not already in place.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of computers and software.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills for interaction with all levels of people.
  • Strong multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow directions and use logical thinking to interpret instructions and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service, internally and externally.

• Ability to balance, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, crawl, kneel, and squat constantly or continuously; frequently.
• Ability to climb stairs where applicable.
• Ability to lift 3 lbs. samples above the shoulder frequently; lift 30 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk constantly or continuously.
• Ability to stand or sit constantly or continuously.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and/or alternate shifts as needed.
• Ability to work in an environment with high dust levels and varying temperatures.
• Ability to use personal protective equipment and meet applicable PPE requirements.
• Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions; use radio communication where needed.
