ResponsibilitiesThis position is primarily responsible for operating the scale and probe systems in an office environment. Actual duties may vary with daily needs and facility type.
- Fully participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre‑shift meetings.
- Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable); wear appropriate PPE.
- Identify inbound trucks, weigh in, record information, and take samples, where applicable.
- Perform required grain grading tests, where applicable.
- Electronically record grades, splits, and other required data.
- Direct trucks to the appropriate location.
- Weigh out empty trucks and accurately record information, where applicable.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, ensuring the truck line moves efficiently.
- Complete documentation in a timely, accurate, and legible manner.
- Label and store samples according to facility protocol, where applicable.
- Maintain general cleanliness of the scale/probe house and work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required – None.
- Preferred – 1 year of experience in an industrial environment with a dependable work record.
- Required – Grain grader and/or weighing certificate; if not obtained before hire, must obtain within the applicable timeframe to perform job duties.
- Working knowledge of computers and software.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
- Strong multi‑tasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to follow direction and use logical thinking to interpret instructions and troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service, internally and externally.
- Ability to balance, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, crawl, kneel, and squat continuously or frequently.
- Ability to climb stairs when applicable.
- Ability to lift 3 lb. samples and 30 lb. loads as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit continuously or frequently.
- Ability to enter information into a computer.
- Ability to grasp and reach constantly or frequently.
- Ability to distinguish grain samples by grade, color, odor, and damage characteristics.
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergency alarms.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as needed.
- Ability to work in high dust and variable temperature conditions.
- Ability to use personal protective equipment and meet PFT and fit‑testing requirements.
The work environment requires employees to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequent use of personal protective equipment is required. Travel of 5%–20% may be required at some facilities, including off‑site training or work at alternate locations.
CompensationExpected base pay range: $13.00 – $13.00 per hour. Actual pay offered may vary based on location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
