Position Title: General Laborer

Location: Phoenix Biochar, Pickens, MS

Reports to: Site Supervisor

Job Type: Full-Time

The General Laborer will play a vital role in the operations of Phoenix Biochar by assisting with various tasks related to the production of biochar and site maintenance. This position involves working outdoors in a team environment, contributing to the efficient processing of organic materials and the overall productivity of the facility.

• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
• Support the operation of pyrolysis equipment under the guidance of the Site Supervisor and trained staff.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Help with the preparation and installation of equipment as needed, including bagging and storage processes.
• Participate in loading biochar into bags or containers for distribution, accurately labeling and documenting products.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any issues to the supervisor to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist in general site maintenance, including landscaping, cleaning, and organizing tools and supplies.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in labor-intensive work.
• Basic understanding of safety practices in a workplace environment.
• Ability to handle physical labor, including lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow directions and instructions effectively.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.

This position requires working outdoors and may involve exposure to machinery, dust, and varying weather conditions. Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs at times and perform physically demanding tasks as needed. Additionally, employees may be required to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
