Millwork Estimator / Takeoff Specialist

Western Building Center is excited to open our new Missoula location, and we're looking for a Millwork Estimator / Takeoff Specialist to join our growing team.
In this role, you'll review residential and multifamily building plans and determine the materials needed for each project. You'll prepare estimates for doors, trim, moldings, hardware, and other millwork products that help our sales team provide accurate quotes to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Review residential and multifamily building plans and specifications.
- Count and measure materials needed for each project.
- Prepare accurate takeoffs and estimates for:
- Interior doors
- Exterior doors
- Trim and moldings
- Door hardware
- Other millwork products
- Make sure estimates match the plans and project requirements.
- Ask questions when plans are missing information or need clarification.
- Work closely with sales staff, vendors, and managers to keep projects moving.
- Balance several projects at the same time while meeting deadlines.
- Learn about new products and construction methods.
- Help support the sales office as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, and enjoys solving problems.
- Reading construction plans or blueprints
- Construction estimating or quantity takeoffs

COMPETENCIES- Strong attention to detail
- Good math skills, including measuring and basic calculations
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and learning new software - Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay organized while working on multiple projects
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to ask questions when needed
This is primarily an office position.
You’ll spend most of your day:
- Working on a computer
- Reviewing construction plans and drawings
- Preparing estimates
- Communicating with team members and vendors
Occasionally, you may:
- Stand, walk, bend, or reach
- Lift office materials or sample products up to 50 pounds
