Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in‑store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and ultimately guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick‑up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

ROLE

OF A GUEST ADVOCATE

The role provides skills and experience including:

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience
  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve concerns
  • Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services
RESPONSIBILITIES

A typical day will likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
  • Engage guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
  • Inform guests of current promos, store activities and events
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products and services available in the store to solve issues and improve the guest experience
  • Thank guests and express happiness that they chose Target
  • Explain Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign‑up as needed
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Show guests how to use features within the Target App, including Wallet
  • Be familiar with Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up and online ordering, and direct guests to enroll, activate and use these features
  • Attempt every return and follow register prompts; partner with leaders to solve for the guest while following Target policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area by removing unpurchased items, baskets and hangers
  • Stock supplies during store open hours while remaining available to guests
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work safely and comply with all safety policies, best practices and training; report hazards and correct them when possible
  • Support guest services such as order pick‑up (OPU), Drive‑up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintain a compliance culture while complying with federal, state and local adult beverage laws
  • Perform any other duties based on business needs

  • Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames
EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Accurately handle checkout operations, transactions, and support cash office operations as needed
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, frequently lifting up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 44 lbs without assistance
