It is the vision of Blackfeet Community College to strengthen and enrich our Blackfeet Nation and universal community through quality education integrating the Nii-tsi-ta-pi World of Knowledge. Our purpose at Blackfeet Community College is to provide the Blackfeet Nation and our “universal community” access to quality educational programs that prepare students for achievement in higher education, meaningful employment, basic skills instruction, and community education, while integrating the Blackfeet culture and language.
The Ameri Corps member will develop and implement programming at Blackfeet Community College to advance student success initiatives, establish campus and community engagement frameworks, and develop programs that address barriers to student retention and completion. This position emphasizes leadership development, cultural respect, and capacity building while serving Native students and the broader Blackfeet community. Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project.
MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana. Led by CEOs from participating institutions, MCNCE works to improve community life and educate students on civic and social responsibility, preparing them to be thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged leaders.

Member Duties :The member will develop and implement outreach and engagement programming to support student success, belonging, and retention. They will establish coordination systems linking students to basic needs services, academic support, and personal resources on campus. The member will design first-year student transition programming and develop resource guides addressing barriers to success. The member will design and implement workshop, cultural activity, and wellness event frameworks, and establish student volunteer and civic engagement programming.
The member will design data collection systems to track program participation and outcomes. All work will be carried out in partnership with elders and community partners in a manner that respects Blackfeet cultural traditions and builds organizational capacity for sustained culturally grounded programming.
