About the Job
Thatcher is looking for the right intern candidate with a high motivation and ambitious drive to join our team as a chemical Engineering - Intern at our Missoula site. This opening is for a 4-month summer term with the possibility of part time through the school year.
What You Will Do
* Provide day-to-day engineering support for plant operations. (Troubleshooting, problem solving, coordination, etc.)
* Perform engineering functions as determined by your experience, and ability to learn and work with people in various manufacturing processes.
* Assist in small projects including development of scope, economics, design, implementation, commissioning, training and start-up.
* Identify opportunities to increase manufacturing safety and efficiency.
* Create professional documents (Standard Operating Procedures, Forms, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, etc.) that define company manufacturing procedures and equipment
* Other opportunities to self-identify work are available depending on students interests and capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in a university Chemical Engineering program.
* Able to work within a chemical manufacturing environment
* Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
* What Will Put You Ahead
* Experience in or knowledge of chemical manufacturing/refining solutions.
* Hands-on mechanical interests and aptitude.
* Experience with CAD.
