Thatcher is looking for the right intern candidate with high motivation and ambitious drive to join our team as a chemical engineering intern at our Missoula site. This opening is for a four‑month summer term with the possibility of part time through the school year.

• Provide day‑to‑day engineering support for plant operations (troubleshooting, problem solving, coordination, etc.)
• Perform engineering functions as determined by your experience and ability to learn and work with people in various manufacturing processes.
• Assist in small projects including development of scope, economics, design, implementation, commissioning, training and start‑up.
• Identify opportunities to increase manufacturing safety and efficiency.
• Create professional documents (Standard Operating Procedures, Forms, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, etc.) that define company manufacturing procedures and equipment.
• Other opportunities to self‑identify work are available depending on student interests and capabilities.

• Currently enrolled in a university Chemical Engineering program.
• Able to work within a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

• Experience in or knowledge of chemical manufacturing/refining solutions.
• Hands‑on mechanical interests and aptitude.
• Experience with CAD.
