While this position involves contributing to general game development tasks, your primary focus will be on audio implementation for our online slot games - from integrating complex multi-layered music systems to ensuring sound effects trigger flawlessly in sync with gameplay.
Your deep understanding of audio implementation pipelines will help bring immersive, responsive, and high-quality audio experiences to life.
When not working on audio-related features, you will contribute to our broader game development efforts alongside our frontend developer team.
Responsibilities
Primary Focus – Audio Implementation
- Lead the implementation of all in-game audio assets, including music layers, sound effects, and voiceovers, ensuring precise timing and seamless integration with gameplay.
- Translate audio design specifications into technical game implementation, following established audio pipelines.
- Set up dynamic and interactive audio systems (e.g., multi-layer looping music, triggered SFX, randomized sound variations).
- Collaborate closely with the Audio Team, Game Producers, and QA to ensure audio assets meet creative, technical, and performance requirements.
- Optimize audio performance to minimize memory and CPU usage without compromising quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related bugs quickly and effectively.
- Maintain and enhance the audio implementation workflow, documenting best practices for efficiency and consistency.
- Translate game design documents (GDD) into HTML5 game presentations.
- Break down GDD features into a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and create JIRA tickets.
- Ensure tasks are manageable within a maximum of one workweek and align with team estimates.
- Implement game features and functionality using Type Script (latest standard).
- Follow best practices, ensuring well-typed and well-documented code.
- Use JavaScript (ECMAScript) only when necessary, documented with JSDoc.
- Work with Git (Git Lab as the central repository).
- Commit code daily to feature branches and follow semantic commit conventions, including ticket IDs.
- Submit merge requests (MR) when work is completed and defect-free.
- Address MR feedback and escalate disputes if needed.
- Ensure code adheres to Secure Development Principles.
- Integrate static art, animations (Spine), image sequences, particles, and corresponding audio triggers.
- Use libraries like PIXI.js for optimal rendering performance.
- Collaborate with Tech Art to optimize both visual and audio assets for efficient implementation.
- Ensure clean, well-documented, and tested code.
- Use browser developer tools to track FPS, memory, CPU/GPU usage, and draw calls.
- Prioritize and fix bugs with utmost urgency.
- Maintain unit and integration test coverage.
- Remove dead code and optimize project assets.
- Utilize Webpack for bundling, minification, and optimization.
- Optimize images, text, and audio assets for a production-ready build.
- Enhance Git Lab CI for efficient deployment.
- Ensure games are optimized for network performance (HTTP/HTTP2/HTTP3, Web Sockets, etc.).
- Work closely with Game Producers, Art Directors, Audio Designers, and QA.
- Conduct game demos for Product Owners.
- Address QA-reported defects quickly.
- Follow structured development milestones:
- Alpha – Game functions as per specification (even if assets are incomplete)
- Beta – Full asset and audio implementation; game ready for QA testing
