ALPS is seeking a self-driven Underwriter to support both new business and renewal applications for Lawyers Professional Liability insurance. Our Underwriting Department plays a vital role in driving profitable growth while maintaining industry-leading retention across our professional liability portfolio. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for strategic risk evaluation, including reviewing applications, analyzing exposures, and determining insurability with appropriate pricing and terms.

You’ll apply technical underwriting knowledge, leverage internal underwriting resources, and use sound judgment to make thoughtful, well-supported decisions. This position also offers the opportunity to collaborate across teams to support company goals, provide exceptional internal customer service, and mentor colleagues while contributing to a culture of continuous learning and professional development. We are open to candidates who prefer to work in our Missoula office or remotely, depending on location and experience.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with a starting salary of $55,000 DOE.
