About Montana Campus Network for Civic EngagementMontana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project. MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana. Led by CEOs from participating institutions, MCNCE works to improve community life and educate students on civic and social responsibility, preparing them to be thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged leaders.
Every year we place cohorts of full-time, part-time, and summer Ameri Corps members with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in Montana. The Ameri Corps projects we facilitate increase educational equity, break down barriers between higher education and community organizations, and address the root causes of poverty in communities across the state.
The Ameri Corps VISTA Leader will contribute to the successful functioning of our Ameri Corps VISTA program by ensuring that VISTA members have the resources and support they need to have positive and productive service. The overall goal of this VISTA project is to support a cohort of VISTA members serving statewide with the Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE).
The VISTA Leader will build capacity for MCNCE by developing member resources, researching training opportunities, enhance support for current VISTA members in service, creating camaraderie among the cohort, serve as a member of the recruitment and training team, and special initiatives ensuring enhanced anti-poverty VISTA projects.
Successfully served a previous term of Ameri Corps service or Peace Corps service. Service Areas include:
Veterans , Housing , Tribal , Community and Economic Development, Community Outreach, Education.
Skills needed include:
Public Speaking, Communications, Team Work, Writing/Editing, Leadership, Conflict Resolution, Computers/Technology, Time Management, Event Planning. Willingness to learn and lead through example.
