Job Description

As a Medical Support Specialist – Plasma Center Nurse you will support the operations of a Plasma Donation Center under guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring donor eligibility, managing adverse events and supporting safety and regulatory requirements.

About Bio Life Plasma Services

Plasma collection takes place at a dedicated center where donors provide plasma that is transformed into life‑changing medicines. The role promotes a high standard of customer service and quality across all activities.

About the Role

You will determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, administer medical history interviews, conduct physical examinations, perform blood tests, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will handle donor reactions, administer emergency procedures according to SOPs, and coordinate with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues. Additional duties include supporting vaccination programs, incident management and acting as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.

How

You Will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent and complete HIV/AIDS education.
  • Interview donors for medical history and acceptance requirements.
  • Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological results.
  • Evaluate donor reactions during the collection process.
  • Apply SOPs for medical emergencies and donor transport.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding medical findings.
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and trigger further evaluation by occupational health or emergency response.
  • Coordinate pandemic response efforts as an authorized Pandemic Coordinator.
What You Bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current state license or certification for EMT‑Paramedic.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • State‑approved IV therapy credentials.
  • Completed FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialists.
  • Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Hourly wage range: $21.60 – $29.70. Actual wage is tied to experience, education, certifications, location and applicable minimum wage laws.
