Plasma Center Nurse- RN

Overview

Job description for the Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work with the Center Physician for medical issues. This role supports center operations and follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and the environmental, health and safety (EHS) program.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and respond to medical incidents at the facility in accordance with SOPs, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or emergency response; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized nursing program with state licensure requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities:
  Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

USA - MT - Missoula

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $31.68 - $43.56. This range reflects anticipated compensation; actual wage depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. Local minimum wage requirements apply. Eligible for short-term incentives and benefits including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, and wellness programs. Annual accruals for paid time off vary by policy.
