RN – Neuro Ortho

Location:

Missoula, Montana (Onsite)

Job Type: Full-Time

The RN – Neuro Ortho is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with neurological and orthopedic conditions in an acute care setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, post-operative care expertise, and the ability to monitor and respond to neurological changes.

As part of Providence Health & Services, you will work in a collaborative, patient-focused environment committed to whole-person care and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to neuro and orthopedic patients in an acute care environment
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor neurological status
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Assist in post-operative care and patient mobility support
  • Identify and respond to changes in patient condition promptly
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and quality guidelines
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree minimum)
  • Montana Registered Nurse (RN) License – Required upon hire
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association) – Required upon hire
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification – Required within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Neuro Ortho (acute care setting)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with neurological assessments and stroke care
  • Strong understanding of orthopedic and post-surgical patient care
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment
