Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) – Full Time, Days

In this role you will support those in our facilities who interface with and provide care to our patients and community members. You will serve as a central point of communication and support for the medical team.

• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Maintain and organize patient medical charts and electronic health records (EHRs).
• Manage unit supplies and equipment, and reorder as necessary.
• Schedule diagnostic tests, procedures, and appointments.
• Assist in preparing insurance forms and other administrative documents.
• Answer and screen incoming telephone calls, take messages, and relay physician orders, test results, and patient status updates.
• Act as a liaison between medical staff, patients, and families, answering administrative questions.
• Ensure unit operations run smoothly by managing data and maintaining a clean, orderly work environment.
• Record and relay information between patients, families, and the medical team.

• Strong organizational, multitasking, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Excellent customer‑service skills and communication ability.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy department and coordinate information across teams.
