Responsibilities- Drive delivery vehicles and/or truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites.
- Adhere to driver safety and compliance regulations, deliver goods on schedule, and provide professional service to customers.
- Load or assist with loading and appropriately securing products or supplies inside delivery vehicles.
- Deliver customer orders to specified sites, maneuver vehicles into loading or unloading positions, and assist customers with unloading materials safely and accurately.
- Verify order details and maintain logs of delivery duties, including amounts, weights, mileage, and locations.
- Serve as a customer service liaison, handling concerns and helping to resolve issues as they arise.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles and perform routine safety checks to meet company guidelines.
- Use handheld devices (except while driving) to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS.
- Maintain hours of service logs and pre/post trip inspection procedures.
- May perform credit or product return pick‑ups and related paperwork.
- Operate a forklift or other non‑motorized material handling equipment to load and unload materials to designated areas.
- Understand and observe all safety procedures to prevent injury to self or co‑workers; attend periodic safety meetings as required and may recommend improvements.
- High School Diploma or GED; 21 years of age or older.
- At least 1 year of delivery driving experience; 2 years of CDL driving experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Class A CDL license.
- Pass an MVR report.
- Obtain a DOT medical card within five (5) days of request.
- Have fewer than 5 moving violations in the last 5 years.
- Work performed in a production environment with temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently and may occasionally lift and carry up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- May need to perform tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
- Must be able to physically operate delivery vehicles (climb in and out of cab, turn torso for visibility, use arms to operate controls).
