Building Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Monitors and checks work in-progress of subordinates and contracted vendors;
• Provide routine repairs such as plumbing leaks at faucets, unclogging toilets, replacing broken fixtures, and ceiling tiles;
• Provide routine maintenance such as: replacing air filters, belts, and light bulbs;
• Painting and texturing of walls;
• Installs new equipment, hardware, and office furniture;
• Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC units, exhaust fans, boilers, and other similar assets;
• Minor renovations, including laying flooring tiles, cutting new doorways, installing doors and window hardware;
• Assist in major renovation projects;
• Support departments with special events;
• All other duties as assigned;

• High School Diploma or General Education Development Certificate and two (2) years relevant professional experience;
• Possess basic knowledge in general maintenance and plumbing;
• Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or vocational/technical school degree/certification preferred;
• Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility;
• Disqualifications: felony convictions, felony deferred adjudication, Class A & B misdemeanor deferred adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor convictions, an open arrest for any criminal offense, and family violence related convictions;
• Subject to 24-hour recall;
