Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year

Position Summary

The Staff or Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing multi-state sales tax compliance, supporting internal billing activities, and assisting with core accounting functions including month-end close and financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

• Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns in compliance with state and local regulations
• Monitor and stay current on changing sales tax laws and requirements across jurisdictions
• Support sales tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
• Reconcile sales tax general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of tax accruals

• Review and post internal repair or service orders
• Verify billing data for accuracy and completeness
• Resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams
• Prepare and analyze billing reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Assist with development and enhancement of billing policies and procedures
• Perform monthly audits of invoices processed by various business units

• Support month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Assist with external audit requests and documentation preparation
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives

• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a mid- to large-size organization
• Strong experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance and filings
• Experience with internal or intercompany billing processes
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
