We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our accounting operations, including the month-end close. This role will play a key part in month-end close, revenue recognition, and financial reporting, with meaningful ownership and opportunities for growth.
CENTRL HQ in Mountain View, CA (on Castro Street). Position would be 3 days a week in the office, and 2 days remote.
Position is a full-time contractor with desire to convert to a full‑time employee.
Tasks,Duties & Responsibilities
- Own key components of the month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Manage the full accounts payable lifecycle: vendor setup, invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, including subscription-based invoicing, cash application, and collections.
- Support revenue recognition under ASC 606
, including contract review and revenue schedules. - Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Partner with external auditors by preparing audit schedules and responding to requests.
- Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and HR to support business initiatives.
- Support ad-hoc projects and process improvements as the company scales.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s a plus).
- 2–4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a startup, fintech, or SaaS environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands‑on experience with ASC 606
. - Experience with subscription billing and revenue tools;
SaaSOptics (Maxio) preferred
. - Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Intacct, or Net Suite
. - Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
