Student Accounts Representatives ensure that the University correctly bills and collects tuition and fee revenue for students. They may handle billing directly or approve the work of others. The University Cashier accepts cash, checks, and credit or debit card payments from students via phone, in person, and through other channels.
PurposeProvide accurate billing and payment services to all students across Park University’s campus centers.
Accountabilities- Monitor and respond to student and staff calls and emails promptly and accurately
- Provide cashier window coverage and accept student payments
- Review and approve student refunds
- Audit and enter third‑party invoices for campus centers
- Review tuition adjustments for accuracy following enrollment changes
- Prepare and send student balance letters
- Execute journal entries for student fees as needed
- Audit receivables and follow up appropriately
- Meet weekly deadlines and complete additional duties as assigned
Represent students at the largest campus in Parkville, MO and at eight other campus centers throughout the U.S. and online, serving a total student population of nearly 6,000.
Challenges and OpportunitiesFast‑paced environment requiring high accuracy, excellent multitasking, strong communication, and customer‑service skills. The role must comply with privacy laws and manage predictable workload peaks during term progression.
Education- High school degree or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field preferred and may substitute for direct work experience
- 1–3 years of cash handling, customer service, and accounting experience required
- Strong team‑building and interpersonal skills
- Professionalism and positive demeanor under pressure
- Ability to work well in a highly structured environment
- Problem‑solving, high accuracy, and exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), databases, telephone, and digital telecommunications, CRM and online technologies
- Ability to work in a virtual environment and willingness to work flexible, extended hours when needed
Must be able to sit for long periods at a computer.
