Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform various accounting, bookkeeping, and clerical functions related to the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounting records and financial transactions. You will work closely with our Retail Operations staff, Retail Management staff, vendors, and financial institutions to maintain accurate financial records and support day-to-day operations.

- Prepare and reconcile various accounting statements.
- Maintain and update ledgers and journals.
- Comprehend and apply principles, procedures, policies, and regulations related to fiscal record-keeping and accounting tasks.

- Journal Entry / Verification – Update Quick Books with all accounting transactions. Make entries as needed, verify and categorize imported journal entries from multiple sources.
- Analysis – Independently analyze data and processes, form well-founded conclusions, and propose and execute resolutions. Collaborate with store managers, operations staff, and software providers as needed.
- Financial Reconciliation – Reconcile bank balances for multiple accounts daily, complete credit card reconciliations, and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Financial Documentation – Maintain accurate financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Billing and Invoicing – Enter daily, weekly, and upcoming bills into Quick Books, maintain the filing system, and access vendor websites for invoices and payment schedules.
- Forecasting – Prepare and forecast monthly financials, analyzing trends and assessing key financial indicators to support budgeting and strategic planning.
- Tobacco Rebate Exports – Submit Tobacco Rebate Exports to relevant organizations, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
- Email Management – Check, respond to, and follow up on emails related to accounting and administrative matters.
- Data Reporting – Provide requested data to internal and external parties for insurance audits and other reporting needs.
- Monthly Reporting – Create and distribute month-end financial reports, completing all necessary checklist items and reconciliation processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or related roles.
- 2+ years of experience with Quick Books and the MS Office suite.
- A high level of urgency, professionalism, and integrity.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial management.
- The ability to exert a moderate amount of physical effort in sedentary to light work involving moving from one area of the office to another.
- Sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform semi-skilled repetitive movements, such as data entry or the use of calculators, ten-key adding machines, or other office equipment.
