Job Overview
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for day‑to‑day accounts payable functions, ensuring vendor invoices are paid timely and accounts payable agings are monitored.
Responsibilities- Matches invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Processes and reviews accounts payable transactions for proper coding and approvals.
- Reconciles vendor statements and researches and corrects discrepancies.
- Interfaces with vendors and employees to troubleshoot and resolve accounts payable matters.
- Prepares daily batches of invoices for review and posting by the Sr. Manager.
- Processes weekly check disbursements for claims and accounts payable.
- Follows up with department heads on invoice approvals and vendors as necessary.
- Assists with special projects such as audits document requests and yearly 1099 reporting.
- Assists with the company’s expense reimbursement process, reviewing and approving expense reports, ensuring compliance with policy, and answering questions about the tracking tool.
- Performs other responsibilities assigned by Accounting Management.
- Minimum 2 years of full‑cycle accounts payable experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred. - Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping; ability to communicate professionally and collaborate with others.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to establish constructive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Mathematical skills: ability to perform calculations and compute simple statistics accurately.
- Reasoning skills: ability to prioritise multiple tasks, advanced problem‑solving, and use reasoning to define problems and design solutions.
- Problem‑solving skills: effective problem solving, organisational and time‑management skills, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Report analysis skills: ability to comprehend and analyse statistical reports.
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger objects, and lift up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Pay Range$41,472.00 - $62,208.00 (based on market location, education, responsibilities, and experience).
