Construction Accountant

Job Description Responsibilities and Duties

• Possess an expertise in Accounts Payable, Billing, & Accounts Receivable
• Possess an understanding in job cost, work in progress, and revenue recognition principles
• Manage accounts payable process including invoice entry and release of liens
• Manage monthly client billing including client change orders, updating project metrics and identifying areas of concern.
• Assist with monthly closing processes including credit card and bank reconciliations
• Develop and maintain a high level of customer service
• Develop and maintain a high level of trust with leadership team, project managers, superintendent, owners & employees by timely responding to inquiries
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality of Company and client information
• Seek out, identify, and suggest cost saving opportunities
• Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of internal controls for purposes of safeguarding company assets as well as providing accurate and efficient information
• Additional duties: due to the cyclical nature of the billing cycle, other duties will be assigned based on employees interest and department needs, of which may change from time to time

• 2-3 years minimum accounting experience - construction industry preferred
• Experience with Pro Core a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Excellent analytical skills
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Ability to work with discretion and confidentiality of sensitive data
• Work independently as well as part of a team
• Work under pressure in meeting tight deadlines
• Self-reliant and resourceful in problem solving

PAY DOE 70K to 80K
