This full‑time, on‑site Senior Cost Accountant role is based in Bridgeton, MO. The Senior Cost Accountant will manage and analyze cost accounting data, prepare and review journal entries, and ensure accurate allocation of expenses to products, projects, and departments. Daily responsibilities include monitoring inventory and production costs, supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes, and contributing to the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
The role will collaborate with finance, operations, and leadership to provide cost insights, recommend efficiency improvements, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. The Senior Cost Accountant will also help maintain and refine cost accounting policies, controls, and reporting tools.
- Strong cost accounting expertise, including experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory costing.
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, with a solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail for interpreting cost data, identifying trends, and supporting decision‑making.
- Experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, and month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Background in finance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑benefit analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; strong skills in Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to work on‑site in Bridgeton, MO, and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
