Job Description

Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will manage and oversee the accounting activities, including financial reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance with regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex accounting tasks. The Senior Accountant will also assist in the development of financial strategies and contribute to overall financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Account Reconciliation:

    • Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Compliance and Controls:

    • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
    • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
  • General Ledger Maintenance:

    • Manage and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
    • Oversee and review month-end close processes and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Financial Analysis:

    • Analyze financial performance and variances, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
    • Support financial planning and analysis activities.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
    • Review and approve work completed by accounting team members.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify areas for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting function.
    • Implement and maintain best practices in accounting procedures and systems.
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and general ledger maintenance.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
