We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our administrative team.

• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Process semi-monthly payroll for multi-location, multi-company environment.
• Calculate and process final paychecks.
• Calculate bonuses for various programs.
• Collect and verify employee and timekeeping data.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Process payroll journal entries for each pay cycle as well as monthly payroll accruals in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, hour laws and best practices.
• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Identify and recommend updates to payroll process and procedures.
• Answer questions and resolve issues regarding payroll and other related areas.
• Process mail, scan, and email documents.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree
• Working knowledge of California payroll regulations, including wage and hour laws, overtime, meal and rest break premiums, final pay, and payroll tax compliance.
• At least three years accounting experience
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently.

Salary range 80k-90k
