Accounting Specialist – Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable

Accounting Specialist | Service Metal | Maryland Heights, MO
Pay: $24.00–$28.00/hour | Full-Time | Business Hours, 8am–5pm | Onsite

Service Metal is hiring an Accounting Specialist to support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, billing, and vendor payments for a growing, nationwide distribution company. This role is a strong fit for someone early in their accounting career who wants room to grow, cross-train, and take on more responsibility over time.

• Process customer payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve payment discrepancies
• Prepare and process customer invoices
• Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and support collections
• Process vendor invoices and prepare payment batches (ACH, check runs, electronic payments)
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain vendor records
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing to resolve accounting issues
• Support audits, compliance documentation, and recordkeeping
• Cross-train across accounting functions as part of ongoing development

• High school diploma or equivalent required;
  Associate's degree a plus
• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP, or AR experience preferred
• Comfortable in Excel and Microsoft Office; ERP/accounting software experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Clear communicator who can manage multiple priorities
• Manufacturing, industrial, or distribution experience helpful but not required
