Job Summary:
The Junior Accountant supports the Controller and accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, performing financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or current student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment.
This role reports directly to the Controller and offers valuable exposure to accounting operations, financial reporting, and manufacturing cost accounting.
Key Responsibilities- Review Accounts Payable transactions for accuracy
- Review Accounts Receivable activity and monitor customer account balances
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Prepare recurring financial, sales, inventory, and operational reports
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances, trends, and unusual transactions
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Support inventory and standard cost accounting processes
- Assist with year-end review and audit preparation
- Compile and organize financial data for management reporting and decision-making
- Support the Controller with day-to-day tasks.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, or currently pursuing a degree
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

Schedule- Part-time position, approximately 15-25 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling available during standard business hours
- Additional hours may be available during month-end and year-end close periods

From $24.00 per hour
