Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing key aspects of the company's financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing, and account reconciliations. This role will work closely with both senior leadership and the accounting team to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management:
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with company policies and GAAP.

• Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Review financial reports for accuracy and assist in the preparation of management reports.

• Account Reconciliations:
Perform detailed account reconciliations, ensuring that all balances are in line with expectations and resolving discrepancies as necessary.

• Month-End and Year-End Close:
Lead or support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial statements are finalized and ready for review within set deadlines.

• Internal Controls:
Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance with regulations and safeguard company assets.

• Tax Compliance:
Support the preparation of tax returns (corporate, sales, etc.), ensuring timely and accurate filing in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Sales Tax Reporting:
Calculate and file state sales tax returns as required.

• Audit Support:
Provide necessary documentation and assistance during external audits, ensuring a smooth audit process and compliance with accounting standards.

• Journal Entries:
Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, reclassifications, and other financial adjustments as needed.

Financial Analysis:
Assist with variance analysis and support management in budgeting and forecasting activities. Provide insights on financial performance to improve decision-making.

• Team

Collaboration:

Collaborate with other members of the accounting team and various departments to ensure accurate financial data and resolution of financial issues.

• Payroll/HR functions:
Manage the payroll process and other HR functions as needed.

Process Improvement:
Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably with experience in public accounting-auditing.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting procedures.

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, or similar ERP systems).

• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
