Payroll Data Entry Administrator
The Payroll Data Entry Administrator supports the accounting team by accurately processing certified payroll data for employees and subcontractors, performing front-end accounts payable data entry, and assisting with basic payroll processes. This role communicates frequently with internal project teams and external subcontractors to resolve payroll issues, utilizes Excel for reporting and organization, and handles a variety of administrative and accounting-related office duties.
Responsibilities
- Enter and maintain certified payroll data for both company employees and subcontractors with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform front-end accounts payable data entry, including invoice processing and related documentation.
- Assist with basic certified payroll processes to ensure compliance and timely completion of payroll activities.
- Communicate with internal partners, such as project coordinators and project leadership, to address and resolve issues related to certified payroll data.
- Communicate with external partners, including subcontractors, to clarify and correct certified payroll information as needed.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to create, update, and maintain reports and spreadsheets for payroll and accounts payable data.
- Support the accounting department with general office and administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and document organization.
- Use multiple technology platforms and accounting systems to input, track, and reconcile financial and payroll information.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support bookkeeping and accounting functions.
- Ensure all work is completed with strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to established procedures.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable processes and front-end AP data entry.
- Proficiency in data entry, including certified payroll data for employees and subcontractors.
- Experience with invoice processing and basic bookkeeping tasks.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reporting, data organization, and spreadsheet management.
- Ability to use multiple technology platforms and accounting systems effectively.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external subcontractors.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial and payroll information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Administrative support experience within an accounting or finance environment.
- Understanding of certified payroll processes and documentation.

Work Environment
This role is based on-site five days per week in a growing construction company located in North Kansas City, working in a modern building with offices and cubicles. You will be part of a small, collaborative accounting team that is expanding as the company grows. The environment is professional, organized, and fast-paced, with regular interaction across departments and with external partners.
The company offers paid holidays and 10 days of PTO while on contract, increasing to 15 days of combined PTO upon permanent hire. Retirement benefits include total contributions of over 10% through an ESOP and 401(k) plan for permanent team members. Standard business attire is expected in the office setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Kansas City, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
