Job Description And Duties
Under the direct supervision of the Correctional Administrator, the Office Technician performs the following tasks. Composes, types and transcribes recorded and handwritten material for custody staff, including confidential reports on staff and incarcerated persons. Reviews submitted staff work (Warden’s Correspondence, etc.) for grammar, spelling and punctuation. Tracks all assignments to and from the Associate Warden’s Office. Compiles data for special projects.
Maintains confidential manuals, records and transcribes minutes of meetings. Answers telephone inquiries, places telephone calls, schedules appointments, and communicates with staff. Acts as secondary Work Order Coordinator for Central Operations. Assists in processing and tracking Gate Clearances. Cross trains with Central Operations Captain Office Technician and Associate Warden Level III Office Technician. Files Supervisor documents and general correspondence. Reviews incoming correspondence and/or sensitive and confidential material and determines proper routing for solving and disposition.
Attends required In-Service Training in addition to the yearly required Block Training. See attached duty statement.
