Job Description And Duties
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment will be considered for this position(s). Under the supervision of the Correctional Counselor II, Specialist (Litigation), the Office Technician (T) performs detailed assignments with a high degree of initiative, independence and originality. Actively involved in the preparation and dissemination of information to the Attorney General’s Office, staff and courts concerning lawsuits.
Responsible for confidential computer assignments such as interrogatories and declaration responses, letters, memorandums and general correspondence. Processes all new cases (Writs and Summons) and ensures necessary documents are generated. Obtain staff signatures, log and maintains confidential staff, incarcerated individual and case files. Communicates with the Attorney General’s Office and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Office of Legal Affairs in a continuing basis.
Responsible for obtaining, sorting and processing of all incoming mail, in addition to logging all outgoing mail. Process and arranges attorney depositions, attorney visits, private investigator visits and other law enforcement visits. Copies incarcerated individual central files to comply with the Attorney General’s office request for documents. Responsible for filing Department Operations Manual (DOM) updates. Process confidential documents for the Heat Plan Coordinator.
Receives, verifies and maintains Heat Logs for the Institution. May be required to perform other duties as deemed necessary for essential institutional operations.

Working ConditionsHigh Desert State Prison is located approximately eight miles east of the town of Susanville, or about a 1 hour 30‑minute drive northwest of Reno, Nevada.
