Status: 12-Month Operation (260-Day Work Calendar) | Support Staff | Non-Exempt (FLSA)

Work Schedule:

8 Hours Per Day (Shift times may vary slightly based on building needs)

Role Summary

The Secretary - Receptionist serves as the central point of contact for all visitors, families, and phone inquiries at the middle school level. Reporting directly to the Building Principal, this position is responsible for greeting guests, routing high-level telephone traffic, assisting with late student arrivals, and maintaining building safety logs. Additionally, you will utilize office technology to manage overflow administrative projects and execute emergency communication protocols when critical situations arise.

Strong organizational awareness, with the ability to quickly master the district's organizational structure, building personnel, and student support policies.

Exceptional attendance and a strong command of the English language are required to ensure uninterrupted frontline coverage and clear, accurate message routing.

Your Impact (Key Duties)

* Public Relations & Welcoming:
Greet all visitors warmly, project a positive impression of the school, and accurately direct guests to the correct offices, staff members, or departments.

* Communications Command:
Respond rapidly and accurately to a high volume of building phone calls, take precise messages, and route inquiries to the appropriate personnel or students.

* Safety & Security Stewardship:
Maintain an accurate, daily log of all visitors to the building and process materials/deliveries arriving from the public.

* Student & Family Support:
Assist with the check-in process for late student arrivals, ensuring a welcoming and efficient transition into the school day.

* Emergency Response Readiness:
Act as a critical line of defense during urgent situations (e.g., inclement weather days or building emergencies), relaying vital information and calling for emergency support using district policy as your guide.

* Administrative Project Support:
Effectively use computer software to assist the school's secretarial staff with overflow typing, data entry, and special organizational projects.

* Information Synthesis:
Notice patterns and understand valid relationships between seemingly unrelated pieces of front-office information to proactively update appropriate building supervisors.

* Compensation:
Based on experience and alignment with OP1 salary schedule
