$7,211.00 - $9,023.00 per Month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Position OverviewUnder the direction of the Clerk of the Board of Equalization, the Hearing Reporter provides assistance and support to the California State Board of Equalization (BOE) Board in its adjudication and administrative matters.
Responsibilities- Take a verbatim transcript of Board meetings using a stenography machine.
- Prepare verbatim transcripts promptly to meet processing standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all transcripts and day‑of exhibits, and an accurate list of speakers.
- Perform incidental related clerical and stenographic work.
- Travel 10% of the time, including overnight travel.
- Proficiency in shorthand or machine shorthand writing.
- Experience with stenography and documentation of legal or administrative proceedings.
- Ability to work in a stationary office environment for extended periods.
