Salary: $6,031.00 – $7,547.00 per month (New to State candidates receive the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable).

Employment Type: 12‑Month Limited‑Term (may be extended up to 24 months and/or become permanent).

Working Conditions

This position is located in Mather, CA. The role is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule with in‑office days as required.

DMV Pull Program: A valid driver’s license is required. Applicants must disclose license details in the application.

Conflict of Interest: Completion of Form 700 within 30 days of appointment is mandatory.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analytical, administrative, operational, and program support functions in support of the Watershed Mitigation, Coordination, and Outreach Unit.
  • Support geohazard preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation initiatives through program analysis, coordination, research, reporting, equipment management, and stakeholder support.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to unit operations, including data coordination, operational tracking, field technology management, and program support workflows.
  • Assist with maintaining and coordinating unit equipment and resources used during trainings, activations, field operations, and watershed protection missions.
  • Independently research and analyze program issues; prepare reports, correspondence, briefings, and recommendations.
  • Track assignments and action items; support coordination efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively orally and in writing in a fast‑paced operational environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
Minimum Requirements

Applicant must meet the minimum qualifications listed in the class specification for the Analyst II level.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience performing analytical, administrative, and program support work, including researching issues and preparing reports, correspondence, briefings, memoranda, and other written materials.
  • Strong organizational skills, with experience tracking and coordinating multiple assignments, projects, action items, deadlines, and maintaining accurate records and tracking systems.
  • Experience collecting, organizing, validating, and analyzing data and program information from multiple sources to support situational awareness, reporting, and decision‑making.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word) and familiarity with databases, dashboards, SharePoint, Smartsheet, ArcGIS Online, or other tracking and information‑management tools.
  • Experience coordinating equipment, inventory, supplies, or logistics, including maintaining accountability, documenting assignments and returns, and preparing resources for operations, trainings, or events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, professional materials and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision, exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment with changing deadlines.
  • Experience providing coordination, outreach, and customer service support to internal and external stakeholders, including partner agencies, local jurisdictions, tribal partners, and the public.
  • Familiarity with emergency management or disaster recovery operations, programs, or systems (e.g., SEMS, NIMS, or SOC/REOC/JFO operations) is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion, tact, and good judgment.
