Attendance & Assistant Principal Secretary, Hawthorn Elementary
The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking a dedicated individual to contribute to our district's overall success. As the Attendance and Assistant Principal Secretary at Hawthorn Elementary, you will play a pivotal support role, ensuring the school office remains efficient, compliant, and welcoming on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required but college degree preferred. Pass all background checks and screenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in clerical, secretarial, or administrative roles, preferably in a school setting. Familiarity and competency using Google Workspace, and Infinite Campus.

Essential Functions and
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcomes visitors to the office, answers phones, responds to student and teacher messages, and coordinates bus passes.
- Checks students and outside visitors in and out of the building. Coordinates with staff during dismissal at parent pick-up.
- Creates and manages Kid Account events, links, and passwords. Serves as the Kid Account Liaison for Hawthorn and assists other buildings with system implementation and updates.
- Maintains and oversees Kid Account visitor status, volunteer sign-in/out, programs, and visitors. Records and monitors daily student attendance and after-school activities.
- Provides and maintains attendance reports, communications, and letters as directed by the attendance team. Facilitates phone calls to families of students with consecutive absences or undocumented/unknown absences.
- Provides secretarial support to the Assistant Principal. Works with building administration to recognize students for perfect attendance. Supervises building events and the cafeteria. Acts as a cashier in the cafeteria, collecting and securing money from students for deposit. Coordinates yearbook ordering, distribution, and the collection of payments.
- Works collaboratively to complete beginning-of-the-year duties, including but not limited to student information updates, decorating, and Laker Locker coordination. Maintains inventory and sorts math books per classroom. Assists with drills and emergency situations, reporting drill times and participation counts to the Fire Marshal.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Support Staff. Terms of Employment 187 days; 7.5 hrs / day. Does not include a 30 minute lunch. Pay Range:
Starting at $15.53 (plus credit for up to 7 years of relevant experience) Benefits include Board paid health insurance, paid sick leave, retirement and other.
